Today I returned to my duties at the Steedumbrella website, however, I will mostly continue to work as an assistant editor of the John Steed's Flat website until the end of July.
The first issue of the new comic book series by Boom! Studios, now titled "Steed and Mrs. Peel: We’re Needed!", will hit stores on 23 July this year. Below is a preliminary cover of the first issue. Other details.
Exactly five years ago, the Steedumbrella website was launched. At first, the website was a copy of the Wikipedia pages about the TV series The Avengers and its main performers, and then, over the years, expanded to the huge resource (over 1000 pages) that covers different angles around the series.
The website continues to delight with regular updates and in the coming days a publication of a new large section will begin – filmography pages of the main performers. At first, Steedumbrella will focus on the works of Patrick Macnee and Gareth Hunt, but then it will pay attention to other persons.
I would like to thank all those who contributed to the development of the website over these 5 years and maintained an interest in The Avengers in Russia. I also express my deep gratitude to Alan Hayes for the fundamental change for the fan group, and J. Ferguson and Christine Stutz for the significant contributions they have made to the group.
Yesterday I started working as an assistant editor on the new website, John Steed's Flat, but will return to my duties at Steedumbrella this weekend.
I will add that it is a great pleasure to work on this magnificent website, which in the future may turn into a museum. The webmaster of the website, Christine, is very enthusiastic about expanding the content, and I think that soon the fans of the TV series will have almost no questions regarding John Steed. Currently, I have done minor editing of the material on the resource, but from tomorrow I will be working on it in full force".
A first global English-language website dedicated to John Steed and his performer, Patrick Macnee, opened yesterday. A feature of the website is a very detailed look at the hero of the series. You must see this John Steed's Flat.

The audio recording of the first part of "A Finger of Fate" was a success, but in total it was just under nine minutes, which really resembled some kind of advertisement for the author's last fanfic about Steed. The recording will be presented to the public after its processing and musical setting. In the coming days, I will publish this finished material of the first part of the manuscript on the website.
I also took from Sergei Pronin a part of the material on the creative works by Steedumbrella fan group. In the course of studying the material, an audio recording of the "Revenge from... (second part of the new version)" fanfic was found, which was not in the list of audio recordings posted on this website.
An audio recording of the first part of the new and last fanfic by Aleksei Sidorov about Steed, "A Finger of Fate", will take place this afternoon. Yesterday the author reported the following: "I wrote a little more preface and a couple of sheets! A total of 14 pages!" So, there is quite a bit of material for recording, which will rather resemble an advertising product of the work. Details tonight.
I also plan to take from the fan group archivist, Sergei Pronin, the main material on the creative works by "Steedumbrella", which will now be placed in my place of residence.

Recently it became known that the American publisher "Boom! Studios" starting from July 2014 will release additional six comics of the "Steed and Mrs. Peel" series. The works will be written by Ian Edginton, known for the Hinterkind comics, and drawn by Marco Cosentino, known for the Grimm Fairy Tales.
Today the Steedumbrella fan group founder, Aleksei Sidorov, has begun writing his latest fanfic about Steed, A Finger of Fate. An idea of this fanfic arose in the late 1990s, but due to the fact that the storyline resembled Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Suicide Club", the author constantly postponed work. Aleksei resumed his writing because his story "Command 'Golden Duke'" was recently translated into German and posted on the "The Avengers Fanfiction" website, including the original. Other fanfics by Aleksei are also planned for translation. The author said that if a due interest in his works will arise abroad, he will finish his story "The Mystery of the Old House" and some of his other manuscripts, nevertheless, "A Finger of Fate" will be his last full story about Steed.
Today it became known about the planned summer release of the most detailed unofficial book about "The Avengers", "Bowler Hat and Kinky Boots", which includes information about the TV series, stage production, motion picture, radio series and more. The contents of this book are compiled from official documents from ABC Television, Iris Productions, Telemen Productions, ABC Television Films, The Avengers (Film & TV) Enterprises and Warner Brothers, including internal correspondence and daily production progress reports.
